Hi! I'm Liam, a game developer and programmer living in Scotland. I've been passionate about computing and games for many years, particularly enjoying getting hands on with technical projects.
I have recently graduated from Abertay University and now looking for a position in the industry.
Throughout my time at university, I focused on technical design through prototyping, programming, and mechanic design. However I also explored UI/UX, level design, QA testing, production, and game art.
I've split my portfolio into two sections - game development and programming - which can be accessed via the buttons below and the header.
(Website is under development and may not function on smaller displays, apologies!)
In summer of 2022, I took part in a 10 week internship at Rockstar Games.
I was part of the content design team where I worked on creating various pieces of content such as missions and game modes using Rockstar's inhouse tools.
I collaborated with other designers to iterate and improve both my own and other's content.
I also learnt how Rockstar operates day to day, which greatly improved my understanding of large scale game development.
I graduated from Abertay University with a First-Class Honours degree in 2023.
The course introduced me to many game development fundamentals in areas such as design, programming, QA, production, and more.
This course greatly improved my game design and programming skills both individually and when working in teams. I also had multiple submissions used as exemplar projects for future students.
To start my journey in game development, I went to Dundee and Angus college to learn about the industry and what is required to start making my own games. I achieved an A grade while I was here.
This course taught me the basic fundamentals for designing and creating my own games. I was introduced to game level coding using Java, and how to organise my project development through software such as Microsoft Project.
